Dee Hardwicke x Turtle Mat Collaboration

As a designer and artist, Dee Hardwicke finds endless inspiration in the ever-changing beauty of Britain's countryside and gardens.

About Dee Hardwicke

Dee Hardwicke is an artist, designer and knitter whose home-studio in the Welsh countryside is surrounded by spectacular mountains, ancient forests and wildflower meadows. As Dee explains, she only has to step outside to feel inspired by the colours and forms in the ever-changing landscape and the lovingly tended cottage gardens from season to season.

Dee's designs begin life in her sketchbooks and often evolve over many years. She loves working with different materials to create pieces that celebrate nature and that add joy and colour to everyday life – whether that's a welcoming doormat, a gorgeous sweater, a tableware collection or some pretty stationery. Dee has also designed collections with other leading names including the National Trust and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Our Collaboration

Dee's philosophy of creating pieces that are useful but are also a joy to live with that has led to her long and inspiring collaboration with Turtle Mat. Dee works closely with the Turtle Mat team to develop her original watercolours into designs that will be an eminently practical yet beautiful addition to your home. As someone who loves heading outdoors come rain or shine, Dee is certainly no stranger to muddy boots, so she understands the importance of mats and runners that can simply be popped in the washing machine. Our collaboration with Dee Hardwicke celebrates how something such as a wildflower meadow can become the inspiration for a whole palette and – in turn – an entire design story.

Based on Dee's original sketches and watercolours, Turtle Mat's Dee Hardwicke collection – which includes the bestselling Olive and Flower Fields designs – is a celebration of the natural world. These stylish mats and runners will be equally at home in a country cottage or a contemporary townhouse, where they'll provide a welcome glimpse of nature and an uplifting splash of colour.
